UNFILTERED 4.0

Volcom Women’s Unfiltered 4.0 Blows the Roof Off Port Mac!

Unfiltered is back, and this time it landed in Port Macquarie! Volcom Women’s teamed up with local surf retailer Saltwater Wine to take over Finnian’s on Saturday night for the fourth edition of female-fuelled expression, bringing together a seriously talented crew of women from across surf, art, film and music.

The walls were covered in work from Cedar Leigh, Ellie Ryan, Fumika Saito, Lucy Juhnke and Studio Kitchi, with Volcom team rider and creative force Jaleesa Vincent showing her pieces alongside them. Every artist brought something completely different, and together they made one colourful, eclectic mashup.

Then it was time for the screen. Jaleesa’s mini-doc Strange But Not A Stranger rolled first, followed by the premiere of Bodhi Leigh-Jones’ brand-new film, R&D. The crowd also scored an early look at the upcoming Jaleesa Vincent x Volcom capsule, so watch this space!

As the night rolled on, the music took over. Local multi-instrumentalist MIKK got things started, Cupid & The Stupids had the room dancing, and Adelaide punk duo Teenage Joans sent the night off with a bang. Their new track ‘Coming Up From Hell’ was a definite crowd favourite.

More than just a party, Unfiltered is a platform to celebrate and empower women to chase their passions, whatever the outlet. And with a local retailer like Saltwater Wine on board, it’s also a great example of how brands and independent surf shops can come together to create something special for their community.

A huge thank you to everyone who came down, the artists and musicians, and the Finnian’s crew for hosting!
